■ About material

Over 95% of parts are made of wood.
Wood has texture, strengh and weight which are friendly to people. Wood's moderate toughness does not hurt people easily. This makes wood great material to work with.

variety of wooden material
We are carefully choosing types of wood for each parts in order to get the best results. For example, yellow cedar for the bigger parts whose shape is important, mahogany for the extra strengh, plywood of linden for mechanical functions.

Wood, a gift from nature
Wood is the ultimate 'green' material which needs no fossil fuel to produce and returns to nature at the end. Lumbering in properly managed forest keeps balance in nature and does not cause deforestation

Other material
In order to maintain stable condition of automata without mechanical problems, we use minimum quantity of brass, stainless steel, nylon and other plastics for the parts whose strength is essential for the mechanism.

We are doing our best to create automata which you would can be repaired and used for a long time.

■ To keep good condition for the longest time...

1.Do not let children aged under 7 play with Drake Automata. Please store them in the place where cannot be reached by these children.

2.Do not try to move or hold the moving parts except the handles while Drake Automata are in motion. This can cause malfunctions.

3.Do not expose Drake Automata to the sun, high humidity or hight temperature. It can cause malfunctions.

1. Rotate handle(s) while supporting the wooden flame. Handles can be rotated both clockwise and counterclockwise.

2. You can carefully place Drake Automata on your palm and rotate the handle with another hand. Thus you can enjoy variety of views.

1.Operation sound may become louder as time goes by. This can be caused by drying and wearing down of wooden parts. Operation itself should not be affected or any malfunctions should occur. You can ease the sound by rubbing the squeaky parts lightly with a candle.

Caution:
DO NOT use polish or liquid oil.

2.Dust can be taken away by brush or blower. Smears can be wiped out with lightly moisturized soft cloth . Be careful not to move or add extra pressure on the moving parts except the handles while cleaning.
